OpFit Prehabilitation, St James’s Hospital   

What: A physiotherapy-led group exercise class which aims to improve fitness to physically prepare patients for surgery. Service users have an assessment before their first class and are given an exercise programme to maximise their physical function.  

OpFit classes are delivered by Clinical Specialist Prehabilitation Physiotherapist Sarah Wade. They run daily for one hour and include aerobic and strengthening exercises.  

 Where: Face to face classes in the physiotherapy department, St James’s Hospital. Online classes via Zoom 

 For who: For people awaiting surgery for cancer under a consultant in St James’s Hospital   

 Cost: No cost – hospital service 

 How: Referral from surgical or oncology team in St James’s Hospital
